PIA Announces Parking and Traffic Flow Changes
Peoria, IL – As construction progresses on the new terminal building, the Metropolitan Airport Authority of Peoria announces the following parking/traffic flow change.
Beginning Monday, April 12, 2010 the Lower Level Terminal Road will be reduced to one lane. This construction allows ductbanks to be run under the existing road to provide electrical service to the new terminal. The road will remain open to passenger/baggage drop offs/pickups; however traffic will not be allowed to stop for long periods or park. In addition the handicap parking stalls in this area will be blocked off during this time. Several parking meters on the upper level drive will temporarily be converted to handicap parking spaces during this phase of construction. In addition, bus service will be moved across the median from where they currently operate. We anticipate this phase will last approximately two weeks, dependent upon weather and construction conditions. We greatly appreciate your patience during this time.
A directional map and construction updates are available here.
