Allegiant Air Non-Stop to Las Vegas

Allegiant Air to Inaugurate Scheduled Non-Stop Service Between Greater Peoria Regional Airport and Las Vegas!

Allegiant is Offering $79 Introductory Web Fares; Will Use 161-Seat MD-83 Jets on Route.

The bet is that convenient, low-fare non-stop scheduled jet service and affordable vacation packages to Las Vegas will play in Peoria.

Officals at Allegiant Air, a Las Vegas-based low fare airline, announced that on March 3, 2004 it will inaugurate non-stop scheduled service at Greater Peoria Regional Airport (PIA) with flights to the fun and entertainment capital. The airline said that its market research and input from local community leaders and travel professionals indicate that central Illinois travelers will welcome the five weekly non-stop flights and low fares to Las Vegas as an alternative to connecting flights or long drives to other airports.

Starting January 8, 2004, Allegiant is offering introductory fares as low as $79 each way on flights between Peoria and Las Vegas when booked on its website at www.allegiantair.com. Fares booked through the airline's Reservations Center can be purchased for as low as $89 each way.

Allegiant is also offering complete air and hotel vacation packages to Las Vegas starting at $220 per person, roundtrip, through its Allegiant Vacation program.

And to make the deal even more attractive for travelers to Las Vegas, airport parking at Greater Peoria Regional Airport is free and is conveniently located in front of the terminal.

Allegiant said the new Peoria-Las Vegas service will initially operate on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday each week, the peak demand days for flights in the market. The carrier will use 161-seat MD-83 aircraft on the route.

"We are extremely pleased to extend the Allegiant brand of low-fare non-stop jet service to the people of central Illinois," said Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant's Chairman. "This is an exciting development for our airline and our customers as we launch the only scheduled non-stop service between Peoria and Las Vegas. Travelers from Peoria, Moline, Bloomington, Springfield and throughout central Illinois have made it clear there is a strong demand for this service in the Illinois market," said Gallegher.

Chairman of the Greater Peoria Airport Authority Board, Gerald Flaherty, stated, "Central Illinois travelers have been looking for more affordable and convenient airline service to popular destinations. Now that Allegiant Air will serve Peoria with flights to Las Vegas, area travelers can fly non-stop to one of the top destinations in the U.S., and a convenient connecting point to other destinations in the west."

According to Allegiant, starting March 3, flights will depart Peoria at 6:20 AM arriving in Las Vegas at 7:55 AM. Flights leaving Las Vegas will depart at 12:05 AM arriving in Peoria at 5:25 AM (all flight times are local). Starting May 5, flights will depart Peoria at 7:00 AM arriving at Las Vegas at 8:35 AM.

Allegiant's $79 one-way introductory web fare is good on off-peak flights from Peoria (Sun., Mon., Wed.,) and return flights from Las Vegas (Wed., Thur., Fri.). The low fare must be purchased on the web by February 8, 2004 and is valid for travel through September 30, 2004. Introductory fares on peak day departures from Peoria (Thur. and Fri.) and return flights from Las Vegas (Sun. and Mon.) start at $89 on the web and $99 through the Reservation Center. Seats at the sale price are limited and subject to availability. After the introductory fare period, regular one-way fares on the route range from $109 to $199.
