PIA Passenger Numbers Soar In September!

Greater Peoria Airport Authority announces another successful month for passenger travel! In September, GPRA had 39,663 passengers, who flew in and out of the airport compared to 29,290 passengers in September last year. This increase reflects 35% over last year.

"It is a privilege to serve an increasing number of travelers in Central and Downstate Illinois," said Solomon Balraj, Director of Airports. "We continue to focus on the customer experience, from the parking lot to the gate. Our goal is to keep the travel experience easy, efficient and safe. Passengers are finding Greater Peoria Regional Airport the way to go, especially with our low and competitive fares and new non-stop destinations like Dallas/Ft. Worth and Las Vegas," he adds.

For year to date, GPRA's total passenger travel has increased 19% compared to the same time last year. Delta had 27% more passengers than September of last year, American Eagle increased 25%, and Northwest had an astounding 70% increase over last September!
