Greater Peoria Regional Airport Sets All Time Load Factor Record
Peoria, IL July 24, 2006 – The Greater Peoria Regional Airport and its five scheduled airlines set an all time record load factor in the month of June 2006. An 86.5% overall load factor was achieved in June of 2006. That marks the single highest load factor ever recorded in the history of the Airport. Load factor is a measure of seats filled versus seats available. The total load factor of 86.5% accounts for both departing and arriving flights. The departing flights accounted for 88% and the arriving flights accounted for 85%. “The Peoria market is very strong and has the ability to get even stronger. Demand is outpacing capacity and we are working with our airlines to provide more seats to keep up with demand,” said Director of Airports, Ken Spirito.
The Greater Peoria Regional Airport is home to five airlines (Allegiant Air, American Eagle, Delta Connection, Northwest Airlink and United Express) with non-stop service to five destinations (Las Vegas, Chicago, Dallas/Ft.Worth, Atlanta and Minneapolis). The Greater Peoria Airport is an easy accessible airport with free customer parking and free wireless internet service.
