Allegiant Air Announces Nonstop Flights From Peoria to Both Fort Lauderdale and Phoenix
(Peoria, Ill.)— Allegiant Air, LLC today announced Peoria, Ill. will soon have two more ways to get some vacation sun with new, nonstop and low-cost flights to sunny South Florida and Arizona. Flights from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport to Fort Lauderdale will begin Dec. 13 and service to Phoenix-Mesa will begin Oct. 27. The low-fare carrier will celebrate the convenient new service to South Florida with sunny introductory fares as low as $79* each-way and fares as low as $89* each way to Arizona.
“We are extremely pleased to again expand the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service to the Peoria community,” Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr., president, CEO of Allegiant Air said. “This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only nonstop, low-cost service from Peoria to both Fort Lauderdale and Arizona.”
The self-proclaimed “Official Airline for Sunshine” will launch the new scheduled service from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport to Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport with two flights weekly. With service Thursday and Sunday, flights will depart Peoria at 4:15 p.m. arriving in Fort Lauderdale at 7:55 p.m. Flights leaving Fort Lauderdale will depart at 1:55 p.m. arriving in Peoria at 3:40 p.m. (all flight times are local.)
Flights to Phoenix-Mesa will operate Wednesday and Saturday, departing Peoria at 1:20 p.m. arriving in Williams Gateway Airport at 2:40 p.m. Flights leaving Phoenix-Mesa will depart at 7:40 a.m. arriving in Peoria at 12:45 p.m. (all flight times are local.)
With the addition of the Phoenix-Mesa and Fort Lauderdale routes, Allegiant will serve five destinations from Peoria. Allegiant inaugurated service to Las Vegas March 3, 2004. Service to the Tampa Bay area began Dec. 12, 2006 and flights to Orlando will begin Nov. 16.

The airline commented that market research and input from local community leaders indicate the Peoria community will welcome the new nonstop flights and low fares to Fort Lauderdale and Phoenix-Mesa as an alternative to connecting flights and long, congested drives to other airports. Allegiant will utilize 150-seat, MD-80 series, jet-aircraft on the route to Fort Lauderdale and 130-seat, MD-80 series, jet-aircraft on the route to Phoenix-Mesa.
