PIA Announces Traffic Control Plan During Terminal Construction
Peoria, IL—The Metropolitan Airport Authority of Peoria (MAAP) announced today that during the construction of the new terminal building, a plan for changed traffic flow will be in effect beginning November 4, 2008. This flow will be in effect until the completion of the project in 2010.
We are excited to get the terminal construction project underway, stated Ken Spirito, MAAP Director of Airports. We plan to make this process as easy as possible for the general public, but we recommend checking www.flypia.com prior to your departure for any updates that may affect patron usage.
The main entrance drive will be closed due to construction and all incoming traffic will be routed through the main public parking lot. The primary drop off area will be the lower level drive with minimal metered parking. The upper level drive will be open for prompt drop off only, but will be two way traffic with no parking available. Exiting the airport will be as it was prior to construction. All delivery vehicles and bus traffic have designated parking areas.
A directional map and construction updates will be available for viewing on the Peoria International Airport website, www.flypia.com.
