United announces new service from Denver to Peoria
Peoria, IL – United Airlines today is announcing new service from their hub in Denver, CO to several locations, including a daily non-stop from the Denver International Airport to the General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport. These daily flights will be on 76 seat regional jet airplanes with service in two classes. Service begins March 30, 2025 and goes on sale at United.com later today. The schedule includes an 8:50 am departure from PIA arriving at DEN at 10:30 am, with the return flight departing DEN at 5:21 pm and arriving at PIA at 8:50 pm (all times are local).
“We’re very happy to announce these new flights working together in partnership with United. We know the business community in Central Illinois has been asking for access to Denver and points west for a long time,” said Gene Olson, Director of Airports for the Metropolitan Airport Authority of Peoria. “Denver will serve as a convenient connecting hub to get our fliers to many locations up and down the west coast as well as making connections easier to international destinations.” Olson said.
PIA applied for and won a grant under the Small Community Air Service Development Program of the US Department of Transportation in 2023, with Denver in mind as a goal of the grant. This announcement is the culmination of those efforts to bring new service to the community, in partnership with United Airlines.
“United is pleased to launch the only daily nonstop flight between Central Illinois and Denver,” said Mark Weithofer, United’s Managing Director, Domestic Network Planning. “This service will increase connectivity to United’s comprehensive global network, and build upon our existing schedule to Chicago O’Hare”
