Airport Road at 474 – Expected Completion October 2025

Important Information to Know:

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced construction on Airport Road at Interstate 474 (exit 5) near Bartonville, which began on March 11.
The work is to prepare for the future replacement of the Airport Road Ramps at I-474 to One Lane.
On May 28 beginning at 10pm, the eastbound lanes will be closed until 5:30am May 29.
On May 29 beginning at 10pm, the eastbound lanes will once again be closed until 5:30am May 30.
On May 30 beginning at 10pm, the westbound lanes will close until 5:30am May 31. The entrance ramp from Airport Road to westbound I-474 will close at 9pm; however, the exit ramp from westbound I-474 will remain open.
On May 31 beginning at 10pm, the westbound lanes will close until 5:30am June 1st. The entrance ramp from Airport Road to westbound I-474 will remain open.
Motorists should expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.
Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in work zones, obey the posted speed limits.
